krikivechi existe? 
alguien puede decirme si existe la localidad o ciudad de krikivechi,en la provincia de Volyn, donde según tenemos entendido nació y vivió nuestro abuelo. muchas gracias. saludos

Yes, selo/village Krikivechi / Krychevychi (Кричевичі in Ukrainian) still exists.  It is located 12 miles ENE of Kovel. Currently the population is 818 souls.  It is surrounded by a thick forest full of big mushrooms and wild animals like foxes and beaver. 
 
From late 18th century to 1921 Krychevychi  > Kovel uyezd/county > Vohlynia gubernia/region > Russian Empire.  From 1921 -1939 the area came under Reconstituted Poland's domain and was called Kowel powiat/county and Wolynskie wojiwodstwo/region. Technically Poland had not existed as a geopolitical entity for the previous 125 years.  After World War 2 this region became a part of S.S.R. Ukraine, under Soviet domain until 1991, when Ukraine became independent.
During the Soviet Era Vohlyn was divided into several smaller regions.
 
Today your ancestral village remains in the Kovelskij raion/district > Vohlynska oblast/region. (Coordinates 51.17 - 24.58)
 
You might consider writing the Village Mayor, Hryhorij Rudiuk, and inquiring regarding any surviving family still residing in the village. Communicating in Ukrainian is ideal.

I assume Grandfather was Christian Orthodox?  When was he born?

The Pravoslavna Church in Krychevychi is called Різдва Пресвятої Богородиці.
 
LDS has not filmed Grandfather's village church records.
