Kowal (ya sé que significa herrero)  pero me parece que es más polaco que ucraniano

y Cheguez, mi abuela paterna, que no es española como pareciera por el apellido, sino ucraniana

As regards Cheguez, my fatherś mother, I really don t know

where she was born.  The only document I have is my fatherś baptism certificate written in latin from the Parochia Tysovica Regnum Republica Polonia Districtus Stary Sambor and it states that my grandmother s name was Anastasia Chegis or something like that because it is handwritten with a pen.  My father was born in 1905 so I cannot know when she was born.  I imagine it was at least in 1880 but I cant tell.

I dont know if there are other Chegis or Cheges as my father told in that region.

Concerning Kowal, considering that my mother was born in 1916, my grandmother, Evdokia must have been born

in 18.. something. My mother was born in Neslukhiv and what I know is that Evkokia died when my mother was 8, so it was 1924 .  I don t know whether my grandmother  had brothers of other relatives living there.

My grandparents always lived in Ukraine and died there. They never left the country.
