Крохмалюк = Krochmaluk in Ukrainian 
Today there are 679 people still residing in Grandmother's selo/village Maykiv (coordinates  50°31′12″N, 26°47′24″E) > Hoschanskij raion/district > Rivnenska oblast/region. 
 

Consider writing the Mayor's office and inquiring about any surviving family still in the village.  Communicating in Ukrainian is best.  Address is directed to Nadia Vozniuk, the Village Secretary.  I also provided you with the newest zip code for the village.

Some Vohlynian/Wohlynian History + Map 
From late 18th century to 1921 the Volynskaya gubernia/region was part of the Russian Empire, that became Communist Russia. From 1921 - 1939 this region, Wolynskie wojowodstwo/region became a part of Reconstituted Poland, that had technically not existed as a geopolitical entity for the previous 125 years.  The region was subdivided and Rivne became a separate region. Post World War 2,  this region became a part of SSR Ukraine, under Soviet domain, until 1991 when Ukraine became independent.

box & immediate boxes around it,  to view location of Maykow (Polish name )/Maykiv (Ukr name).
 
 
Technically Grandmother was born in Poland and her documents
would show her as a Polish citizen.  Ethnically she was Ukrainian
and was probably baptized in a Greek Catholic Church???
